The price of gas. Need I say more................

Radio Celebrities

You know if you let a person stay on the airwaves long enough, they will eventually say something that they think is cute, but it is actually horrendous. I guess these radio people are all so full of themselves that they actually think that what they say actually has some merit. Talk radio may have it's place, but enough already. Talk radio listeners have a hard time thinking for themselves. I guess it is easier to quote a radio personality than to do a little research and formulate your own opinions. These guys don't know it all and, as Don Imus has discovered, they are not bulletproof.

I'm just saying.........................

Cruise Ships

I guess it was a good week for the cruise industry. No one fell or jumped of a boat. Not one ship was reported running aground or sinking. Whoo Hoo!

Big Boats

Don't you just love big ships? This was taken last year on Riverstreet in Savannah, GA.

The Weatherman

There were new hurricane predictions released these week. Now, I have a question.

My local weather people (weather man might not be politically correct) can't tell me whether it is going to rain, sleet, snow etc. accurately. What makes someone think they can predict the number of hurricanes in a season? You know a weather person has the only job in the world where they can constantly be wrong and still keep their job.

Go figure.....................................

Falling Off The Ship

I have taken several cruises, so I think I know the answer to my own question. But, just how drunk do you have to be to fall off of a cruise ship?

Politics & The Final Four

We should put the NCAA in charge of our presidential elections. Why? Because they can finish a tournament with 65 teams in just 3 weekends? Wouldn't it be great to only have 3 weekends of campaigning?

I'm just sayin'.................

The Media

Is it just me? Is there such a rush to scoop everyone else? Once a story gets it's first airing or printing, it kind of takes on a life of it's own. Take the man overboard incident last week. It seems all of the reports are about his survival in the ocean and what a great feat it was.

Has anyone stopped to ask why he was so drunk? Has anyone asked why he, a 30 year old man, was sharing a room with his 16 year old "godson"? No, they have not because that's not what everyone else was reporting. They were reporting the miraculous survival at sea.

Please give me a break. More on this whole media thing later.

Weekends

Wow, do the weekends always go too quickly! Especiallythe ones that are good. It alsways seems that when things are going bad, the weekends are an eternal hell. Oh well, warm weather is approaching and so is the beach. We will be at Tybee Island, GA the last week in April. Tybee has been described as a drinking island with a fishing problem.

Driving

I live in Georgia and have driven across a good bit of the USA. I do believe you will find the rudest, craziest & fastest drivers in GA. No matter what compass point you enter the state from, it is as if a green flag is dropped at the state line and the race is on. You see, in GA the speed limit is a suggestion and the closer one gets to Atlanta the faster traffic moves. Whoever thought you could drive 80 mph on I285, I85 or I75 and be the slowest person on the highway.

And speaking of Atlanta traffic, why do they even bother with traffic reports on all of the radio & television stations? They could just play a recorded loop saying traffic is stopped or slow and allow yourself an extra hour to get to anywhere. And hey Mr. Traffic Reporter, just what is the inner loop, outer loop, or the east side of the westbound freeway? What good is a traffic report when no alternate routes are given or if you are already in the traffic jam?

I have also seen drivers doing some crazy things while going down the road. What is the craziest thing you have seen some one doing while driving a car?

Traffic Observation:
Allow enough time to ride the two lane highways, stay off of the interstates. You will alleviate a lot of stress and get to see more of this wonderful country.

My Rules

This is my first time as a blogger, so let's just get a few things out of the way.

Mostly my blog will contain observations about life and the world in general. Nothing to heavy, I hope, or too complicated. Maybe nothing too controversial. The grammar and punctuation may not always be correct, but let it slide on by. I am not that young, but not that old either. I am ,however, old enough that a lot of things in life that upset me 15 or 20 years ago really don't bother me anymore.

My first observation is:
Things always cost more than you think they will and things always take longer than you think they will. If you live by this simple rule, you will eliminate a lot of stress from your life.
